About Circle

Circle exists because the hardest part of a hard time is often the practical stuff — and the people who want to help usually don't know how.

Why we built it

When someone is going through illness, bereavement, burnout or a big life change, friends and family ask "what can I do?" — and the honest answer is usually "I don't know." Asking for help is hard. Guessing is awkward. So meals go uncooked, errands pile up, and everyone feels helpless.

Circle turns that around. The person going through it lists what would actually help — a hot meal, a lift to an appointment, an hour of company, a small treat — and the people around them chip in, each giving only what they choose.

What we believe

  • Help shouldn't have to be asked for twice. Say it once, in your own words, and your circle takes it from there.
  • Small is powerful. A £5 soup or a ten-minute phone call can matter more than a grand gesture.
  • Recipients never pay. Circle is free for the person at the centre. Contributors give only what they choose.
  • Privacy is the default. Your circle is invite-only. You control who sees what.
  • Everyone is welcome. Circle is gender-neutral by design, for every adult 18 and over.

What Circle is not

Circle is not a fundraiser, a marketplace or a loan service. We never allow adult services, alcohol, gambling, or cash and gift cards.
